COUNTY OF SHERBURNE: Sherburne County is looking for foster homes for children with a variety of disabilities

Parents1

County Of Sherburne issued the following announcement on Jan. 20.

Sherburne County is looking for foster homes for children with a variety of disabilities.

There is currently a staffing crisis across the State of Minnesota for vulnerable children.  These children need a safe, nurturing place to stay, but unfortunately, we have a shortage of available licensed homes.

We are seeking foster homes and respite providers for children with developmental disabilities, brain injuries, mental health diagnoses, and/or special medical needs. These children may need a higher level of supervision due to cognitive and behavioral needs than their same-aged peers.

If you feel you have a caring heart and a warm home to offer these wonderful children, and you live in Sherburne County, please contact Chelsea Doherty, Child Foster Care Licensor, at (763) 218-6533, or by email at chelsea.doherty@co.sherburne.mn.us

We will be hosting an informational Zoom meeting on Feb 13 at 6 p.m., with Sherburne County licensing and waivered services staff there to answer your questions!  Give Chelsea a call to register.
